Over the past 4 years LVDC has made a profound impact on the standard of living of many disabled children in the Mara region and in spite of the limitations in terms of the size of the centre and its level of funding, the centre has an excellent track record.

However, because of a lack of funding, we are unable to accommodate and accept all those with interests in attending and enrolling at the centre. In addition to funding gaps within the centre itself, many of the would-be students could not afford to stay alone, and neither did they have relatives in Musoma to board with. It is the ultimate goal of the organisation to construct a multi-purpose building with workshops, classrooms and boarding facilities to meet the demand and cater for all of those with disabilities in the area.

Support can be given in many ways.

Financial
A small donation goes a long way:

£5 would pay for a months sign language tuition to a class of students.

£10 could buy training material and books for a disabled student.

£100 could buy someone a wheelchair or tricycle giving them the gift of mobility.

£350 would train a disabled child in a practical skill and equip them with the relevant facilities for them to sustain a living.

When fundraising we ensure that recipients of the charitable assistance don’t just receive money, but instead get the help required to help themselves. Any donation, large or small, will reach its destination and make a profound difference to many disabled children’s livelihoods.

Tools & Materials
Support does not have to be financial, if you have any old equipment such as sewing machines, material, woodworking tools, computers etc that are getting dusty in the loft please let us know. Even just ideas that you think could benefit the school will be gratefully received.
